| Quote: | I was just watching the first part of VH1's 100 Greatest Hard Rock Songs and and was surprised when Amy appeared on the show. Also, the song Bring Me to Life came in at 83 on this countdown, and Ronnie James Dio, Don Dokken, and Dee Snider of Twisted Sister had some things to say about Evanescence. According to Bret Michaels who is hosting the show, Ev is "the only hard rock group EVER to win the Grammy for Best New Artist. Really."
Ronnie James Dio - I love Evanescence. I love the darkness of it. I just love that the song is so different.
Don Dokken - Her voice is just spectacular. She just belts it out; it's very operatic, a little bit gothic; I was just blown away.
Dee Snider - The first time I heard it, I didn't know what to make out of it. Pop stations were playing Evanescence. Really! They shouldn't have been. This is way too heavy, but somehow Amy's voice really crossed over.
Amy - There was definitely a lot of speculation before our album came out that we would not make it, just simply because we were different.
Amy on current status - I've been home all this year just being natural and it's weird and great, but the writing is definitely a little bit different. I don't wanna give anything away, but it's still growing, still evolving.
Also, here's the first 20 songs on the countdown:
100. Sammy Hagar - I Can't Drive 55
99. Grand Funk Railroad - We're an American Band
98. Buckcherry - Lit Up
97. The Edgar Winter Group - Frankenstein
